Esther Park will finally be getting permanent female-friendly facilities, with thanks to the Andrews Labor Government.

Today our President Mick Ashworth and Committee Member Steve Lorton met with Deputy Premier James Merlino MP at the club this morning to discuss our current facilities.

We are proud to announce that James Melino MP has listened and is supporting the club and our desire to provide better change rooms for our female players and announced that the Andrews Labor Government is “kicking is $500,000 from the Female Friendly Facilities Fund” to help the redevopment of the main clubrooms. This is not an election promise, it is committed and funded!

After this funding announcement the club as spoken with the Yarra Ranges Council to see where we stand. We can confirm that the council is moving into the detailed design phase with construction planned to commence next year.

This funding from the Andrews Labor Government along with the $1.25 million already committed for the Junior Pitch Upgrade totals $1.75 million.

An estimated cost of the total project now committed and funded is approximately $5 – $5.5 Million.

We would like to thank the Council in Terry Jenvey, Marco D’Amico, Chris Clerici and all the other staff that have helped us through this journey.
